A child, grandparent, grandchild, sibling, spouse, or domestic partner of the registrant.A member of a law enforcement agency or a representative of another governmental agency, as provided by law, who is conducting official business.A party entitled to receive the record as a result of a court order, or an attorney or a licensed adoption agency seeking the birth record in order to comply with the requirements of Section 3140 or 7603 of Family Code.The registrant or a parent or legal guardian of the registrant.The new law describes an authorized person as: Those who are not authorized by law to receive an authorized certified copy will receive a certified copy marked "INFORMATIONAL, NOT A VALID DOCUMENT TO ESTABLISH IDENTITY." PLEASE BE ADVISED THE COUNTY CLERK/RECORDER'S OFFICE CAN ONLY ACCEPT PAYMENT IN THE FOLLOWING FORMS: The fee for a birth certificate is $29.00 per copy and for a death certificate is $24.00 per co py. If you find this is the case with a record you are researching, you may contact the Amador County Archives or the Amador County Library to see if they have any information on the birth or death record you are researching. For that reason many earlier records are not registered in this office. There was no law in the State of California requiring the registration of a birth or death until 1915. Amador County was formed in 1854 however birth and death records, for events that occurred in this County, are only available from 1872 to current.
